We at the Municipal Utility Company of Schmölln are comparatively young as a company. We incepted from the re-incorporation of the public distance heat production and distribution company of Schmölln as a new company, after it had taken over the drinking water mains service for the area served by the City of Schmölln.
The operation proper of the new company started on 1 Jan 1995.
Besides the main business areas of distance heat and drinking water distribution, we pride ourselves on being available as an all-round service provider for various tasks and applications.
Our knowledgeable staff have managed the municipal wastewater discharge operations for the City of Schmölln, the drinking water distribution and wastewater discharge for the Joint Municipal Utilities of the Upper Sprotte Valley, and the drinking water distribution for the town of Göpfersdorf. Since 2002 we have been responsible for the operation and maintenance of the street lighting system of the City of Schmölln. The newly established leisure-time pool with wellness saunas has offered young and old visitor enjoyable relax or sportive challenge since 16th of December 2006.
It is our employees, their ideas and their performance that have turned the municipal utility company into what we are today, a future-minded, dynamic, and business-like company.

Water Is Life
365 days per year we make sure that you can have peace of mind when opening the tap and letting the water run to drink it. Every year we supply you with approx. 600,000 cubic metres of drinking water — of the highest quality, 24/7. Water is always there for you, no matter whether for washing, cooking, or drinking.
Heating in Your Home without Your Own Boiler
Our long-distance heat makes it directly to your home through our pipelines, on 365 days every year. Customers in the new Heimstätte built-up area and some part of the city centre need no in-house heating system and no chimney either. The heat is centrally generated and delivered right to your home. A heat exchanger is then used to supply this heat to the heating system of the house.

Do you feel stressed and worn-out? Then treat yourself to a good, relaxing time at the Tatami Leisure Time Pool. On 16thof December 2006 the Municipal Utility Company of the City of Schmölln opened a pool with an attractive sauna and wellness spa for you at Schmölln, to the benefit of all who visit. It is a pool installation we want to be to the joy, fun, and well-being of all.
